Health promotion strategies can be defined as actions that individuals can adopt to attain good health and better their well-being. It involves informing people how they can stay healthy and addressing issues within the community that could negatively impact people’s health (Fleming & Parker, 2020). Individuals ought to take part in controlling their health outcomes. An average individual can use different health promotion approaches daily, including lifestyle, public health, and preventive medical health.

The primary strategy for health promotion is behavioral and lifestyle techniques. These approaches include a change of individual daily lifestyle towards achieving better health. Some sedentary behaviors, such as unhealthy eating and substance abuse, could risk individuals acquiring different diseases. Individuals can use health education to promote healthy behaviors (Fleming & Parker, 2020). Preventive medical approaches can also enhance healthy living and individual well-being. The use of preventive vaccines, such as childhood immunization programs, is essential in improving health conditions. Vaccines contain some synthetic versions of specific viruses that help develop the immune system, preventing ill health when exposed to the virus. Other preventive approaches to health promotion are eating healthy balanced meals and engaging in physical exercises.

Individuals can also use public health techniques to promote healthy activities. Some of these approaches include encouraging individuals at work to participate in wellness programs. Volunteering within the community level to offer services that could help boost healthy living, such as nutrition and health classes (Fleming & Parker, 2020). Although some people may take longer to change their behaviors, this can help them apply the acquired skills to their daily lives. Moreover, they can transfer them to a more significant number of individuals, improving their overall health.
