Researching of Advanced Nursing

The notions of advanced nursing practice and advanced practice nursing are usually considered in different directions. The primary differences are considered to be in the type of education necessary for working in a particular direction. For example, every nurse with a master’s degree is unable to provide the services of advanced nursing practice. At the same time, advanced practice nursing requires additional education after university (Advanced nursing practice vs. advanced practice nursing, 2021). The nurses in this sphere provide more extended services and bear greater responsibility than advanced nursing practices.

The significant difference can be drawn based on the definitions of the two mentioned directions. Advanced nursing practice is a field of nursing centered on expanding the boundaries of the nurses’ knowledge and skills in particular and the profession in general (Cooper et al., 2019). At the same time, advanced practice nursing is deemed to meet the patients’ complex health needs, expanding the boundaries of the whole healthcare system (Cooper et al., 2019). As it is seen based on the definitions, the second notion is more complex, including the advanced number of responsibilities being more globally centered.

The roles of advanced practice nursing include various tasks related to clinical practice, primary care, education, administration, and health information. Usually, the roles include the following specialties: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), Certified Nurse Practitioners (CNP), and Medical Specialist Nurses (Cooper et al., 2019). Each of the specializations is deemed to be the varied spheres of healthcare services provided above. For example, the CNM is mainly focused on health education and information. At the same time, CRNA and CNPs work in the spheres of primary care and clinical practice.
