Our societies are majorly made up of very diverse individuals of different races, origins, and cultural orientations. The large populations within our communities require individuals to ensure that there are high levels of law and order to ensure proper wellbeing. The most effective way of ensuring law and order for a productive coexistence of individuals with diverse characteristics is by electing leaders representing every individual without any form of favoritism (Meng, 2016). Leaders are individuals elected by the people to represent their grievances because they have a great understanding of the environment and the wants of the people. Leadership is a God-given opportunity that requires the individual to operate as per the qualities of a good leader spelled out in the bible.
Additionally, the bible states that God chooses leaders and should work as servants of God serving God’s children. One of the main qualities required from a leader representing a group of people or a society is integrity. Integrity involves doing the correct things at the correct time and following God’s will for the benefit of the people. A leader who acts with high levels of integrity will avoid vices such as corruption which a major cause of derailed developmental processes within the societies. Groups with leaders who possess poor leadership skills majorly end up with a poor development track, bringing about unnecessary conflicts.
Leadership is also at its best when goals and objectives of the group and society are met, enabling the creation of harmony among individuals with different backgrounds. Leadership is a calling from God to work as His servant and fulfill his will and purpose for the wellbeing of people in society. The bible also states that from everyone who has been given, much shall be required. Luke 12:48, which requires a leader to know his/her responsibilities.
