When processing information provided in scholarly research, it is of paramount importance to define the questions that are to be answered once the analysis is completed. Thus, the article chosen for the analysis concerns the quantitative correlation between the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and anxiety levels among nursing students (Bahçecioğlu Turan et al., 2021). In terms of the present article, the first question would be:
What was the hypothesis outlined by the authors prior to collecting primary data?
The present article addresses a hypothesis that the level of anxiety among future nurses is affected by such an external factor as the pandemic outbreak.
The second question sounds as follows:
What units of analysis were used for research? How were they crucial for the research outcomes?
In the context of the article, it is evident that the primary unit of analysis is an individual person. However, such a significant independent variable as one’s willingness to become a nurse also becomes crucial for the level of analysis, as it catalyzes some of the major study findings (Bahçecioğlu Turan et al., 2021). Answering this question is important for further understanding of the matter and the article’s contribution to a chain of articles connected by the topic.
Finally, the third question is:
What are the tangible outcomes of the study that may potentially benefit the overall field of practice? What is the value of the article discussed?
In terms of the present article, the tangible findings claim an insignificant correlation between COVID-19 outbreak and anxiety levels, whereas the regularity is traced to the relationship between anxiety and one’s willingness to become a nurse (Bahçecioğlu Turan et al., 2021). Thus, the value of such findings concerns the creation of a foundation for further research on the matter of quality of care and one’s inner motivation. The same questions should be asked when analyzing the quantitative research articles outlined by peers, whereas the qualitative data should also be questioned on the matter of theoretical framework collected from secondary sources.
